Despite the monsoon that rained down on us, Yangon was an incredible place to visit. The draw dropping Shewdagon Paya, is a must see. It's not often you get to see one of Buddhism's most sacred sites scaled to 325ft high. Layered in 27 metric tons of gold leaf and thousands of diamonds and other gems, this is one temple to not miss!
For a slightly different experience we highly recommend the Bogyoke Aung San Market! Spend at least half a day here getting lost and haggling for the most random assortment of gifts.
Some look at Yangon as a transfer between cities in Myanmar however it was one of our major highlights so definitely give it a chance and more importantly spend time getting to know the amazing locals!
